A founder decision library

Decision-making for AI founders

A practical reading path for choosing a costly problem, finding behavioral evidence, selecting the next bet, and knowing when to stop.

01—04

The four decisions

  1. Choose01

Choose a problem worth the cost

AI makes prototypes cheap. It does not make customer problems, distribution, or operational change cheap. Start with work that is painful enough to deserve a better way.

  2. Validate02

    Validate behavior, not approval

Useful evidence changes a founder’s next decision. Look for behavior that carries a cost, not compliments, survey answers, or clicks that are easy to give.

  3. Prioritize03

    Prioritize the next reversible bet

When several ideas compete for attention, choose the smallest move that can change the next important decision without creating avoidable lock-in.

  4. Stop04

Stop when evidence calls for a narrower bet

Stopping protects attention for the work that still has a credible path forward. It can mean narrowing, pivoting, or ending an investment.

How to use this library

Start with the decision currently blocking the work, not the stage that sounds most advanced. A team choosing between broad opportunities needs a different kind of evidence from a team deciding whether a validated manual workflow is ready to become software.

Each page names one primary question, the mistakes that distort it, a working sequence, and essays that examine the decision in practice. Move forward when the evidence earns the next commitment. Move backward or stop when it does not.
